Carl Larry Sullivan
Carl Larry "Sully" Sullivan, 75, of Navarre, FL passed away on November 14th after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Mayo, FL on May 29th, 1944, son of the late Maria and Jessie Sullivan. Carl graduated from Lafayette High School of Mayo, FL in 1962 and began his service in the United States Army in 1966. Carl served two tours in Vietnam as a member of the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), earning several medals including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Carl continued his distinguished military service for 27 years, retiring in December 1992 at Fort Bragg, NC while attaining the rank of First Sergeant. He was preceded in death by a son Brian James, and brothers Delon, Donnie and Terry.
He is survived by his wife Dottie Anne, his three children, Renee Evelyn, Sheith Dwinn (Campbell), and Jay Carlon; 4 grandchildren, Chase and Cade Campbell of Columbus, OH, Jesse Sullivan of Abilene, TX, and Conor Sullivan of Navarre, FL; sister Alice (Land) of Mayo, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday November 20, 2019 at Airline Baptist Church in Mayo, FL, with Bro. Greg Sullivan officiating. Interment will follow in Airline Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are under the care of Burns Funeral Home of Mayo.
