Clarice Queen Anderson, 83 of Mayo, Fla., passed away Thursday March 24, 2016 at Haven Hospice in Lake City, Fla. following a brief illness. Mrs. Anderson was born February 20, 1933 in Cedartown, GA to James Edward Queen Sr. and Minnie Lee Brown Queen. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Brewer Lake Baptist Church. Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker to her family and a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to watch her Haley's basketball games, and was a regular patron of Subs-N-More where she visited with her closest friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her parents; her 1st husband, Lamar Anderson, in 2003; her 2nd husband, Floyd Koon, in 2012; a daughter, Cathy Anderson, in 1957; a granddaughter, Leigh Anne Fowler, in 2013; a sister, Mary Alice Canter; and a brother, J.E. Queen Jr.
She is survived by her son, Ted Anderson, and wife Judy, of Jacksonville, Ala.; her grandson, Jamie Anderson, and wife Julie, of Oxford, Ala.; her great-granddaughter, Haley Fowler, of Mayo; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Anderson will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Monday March 28 at Brewer Lake Baptist Church with Bro. Robert Bradow officiating and Bro. Rick James, Bro. Matt Swain, and Bro. Danny Rogers assisting. Interment will follow in Day Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service also at Brewer Lake Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Brewer Lake Baptist Church or Haven Hospice of Lake City, 6037 W US Hwy 90, Lake City, Fla. 32055. All arrangements are under the care of Joe P.
