Dolores Hart Ceraso, 80, of Mayo, FL, passed away at her home on Oct. 3, 2016 following a brief illness. Mrs. Ceraso was born Apr. 17, 1936 in Mayo to Mr. William Isaac Hart and Mrs. Pearlie Mae Hart. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mayo as well as the Mayo Rotary Club and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 105. Mrs. Ceraso was a graduate of Lafayette High School and Florida State University where she earned her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education. She was an educator and administrator in Lafayette and Dixie Counties and served in those capacities for more than 40 years. Better known as "Mrs. C" to all of her students and faculty, she along with her husband were tireless and adamant supporters of Lafayette County Schools. She was a loving and devoted wife, daughter and sister. Mrs. Ceraso was preceded in death by her parents William Isaac and Pearlie Mae Hart and her brother, Ike Hart Jr.
She is survived by; her husband of 57 years, Milton E. "Angie" Ceraso; as well as many cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ceraso will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016 at Burns Funeral Home of Mayo with Rev. Wayne Hudson officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haven Hospice, 6037 W US Highway 90, Lake City, FL 32055. All arrangements are under the care of Burns Funeral Home of Mayo.
