Irma Lee Odom Blue, our precious wife, mother and grandmother, 76, of Mayo, Fla. passed away on June 2, 2016.
Irma Lee Odom Blue was born in Mayo, Fla. to Leroy and Cloie Pearson Odom on October 19, 1939. She graduated from Lafayette High School and then attended college at Lee College in Cleveland, Tennessee. She married Woodrow Calvin Blue on December 13, 1973 in Mayo, Fla. She worked for Lafayette County Schools as a secretary in the Superintendent's Office and a teacher's aide until she retired in 1998.
Irma was a devoted wife of 42 years, the kindest mother and the best of mother in laws. Her grandchildren adored her and appreciated all the special hugs, games and goodies they were sure to find at her home. Her life was one of quiet giving and service to others. She was an active member of Alton Church of God, served as president of its Ladies Ministries and taught Sunday school. She also served as groundskeeper for Alton Church for 16 years. She spent many years taking care of children in her home, at her preschool "The Other Mother," and as a Pre-K aide. Irma loved baking inventive new desserts and preparing gift baskets for the widows of her church.
Irma Lee Odom Blue is preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Cloie Pearson Odom and a brother, Levis Odom.
