Megan Salone Walker Zipperer, 25, passed away on Nov. 29, 2016 in Gainesville, FL following a brave battle with cancer. Megan was born May 24, 1991 in Gainesville, FL to Mr. Edward Mitchell Walker Jr. and Amy Michelle Vann Alvarez. She was a 2010 graduate of Lafayette High School where she was a cheerleader and the 2009 Homecoming Queen. She was of the Christian faith and attended the Mayo First Assembly of God. Megan worked as a teacher at Loving Care Daycare Center and also owned and operated Buttons and Bling Crafts. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her family. In her spare time she enjoyed photography, fashion, cooking, socializing, and going to the river.
She is survived by her husband of six years, River Lee Zipperer, of Mayo; three children, Sawyer, Kellan, and Sutton Zipperer; her parents, Edward M. Walker Jr., and wife Monica, of Panacea, and Amy Alvarez, and husband Juan, of Perry, FL; her father and mother-in-law, Lee and Lori Zipperer, of Live Oak; paternal grandparents, Edward and Delores Walker Sr., of Mayo; maternal grandparents, Paul and Brenda Miller, of Live Oak; two brothers, Bryer Lee, of Perry, and Colton Walker, of Panacea, FL; five sisters, Brittany Walker, Tori Flores, both of Mayo, Lily Walker, and Ellie Walker, both of Panacea, and Taylor Zipperer, of Branford; as a well as numerous other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Megan were held on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016 at Airline Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Sullivan officiating. Interment services followed in Wayfare Cemetery. The family will received friends on Friday Dec. 2, also at Airline Baptist Church.
