Sonia Jacqueline Parker, 93, of Fernandina Beach, FL, died December 4, 2017, at Osprey Village in Fernandina Beach, FL, she was born February 13, 1924 in Leicester England to the late William and Alice Wheatley. She served in WWII with the women's Auxiliary Air Force. She moved to the United States in 1947 where she married James O. Parker, Sr. They resided in Mayo until 1998 and during that time she worked with the U.S. Post office until she retired in 1989. She is survived by her two grandsons, James O. Parker III of Mayo and Chet Parker and his wife Jennifer of Southlake, Texas and one granddaughter, Teresa Parker of Satellite Beach, FL.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home in Mayo
with Rev. Rick James officiating at 12:00 p.m. Family will receive friends Thursday before the service starting at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Day Cemetery.
