William Washington Roberts, Jr.
Mr. William Washington Roberts Jr., 59, passed away unexpectedly on December 10, 2019 in Live Oak, FL. William was born August 11, 1960 in Arcadia, Florida to William Washington Roberts Sr. and Linda Lou Dampier Roberts. He was a graduate of Hardee High School in Wachula, FL and shortly thereafter started Florida State Fire College in Marion County where he graduated as a Fireman. Following that he worked as a firefighter for Wachula Fire Department for more than a decade. After his tenure for the Wachula Fire Department he moved to Lafayette County, FL where he owned and operated a chicken farm for 12 years near Branford before going to work for Suwannee County as a firefighter and EMT. In 2014 he founded Roberts Hauling which he operated until his passing. William was of the Baptist faith and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. In his spare time he enjoyed going to auctions, traveling, and building things. He was preceded in death by his father, William Roberts Sr., and a sister, Elizabeth Ann Goff, and his first wife, Charlotte Poncier.

William is survived by his wife, Teresa Roberts; 2 step-daughters, Yvette Scarborough, and Sharry Hunt; 2 step-sons, Jamie Wright, and Andrew Johns; 3 brothers, Billy Joe Roberts, Jimmie Roberts, and Johns Bruce Roberts; 1 sister, Tammy Sue CoRona; 1 grandson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A Celebration of Williams Life will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday January 4, 2020 at New Hope Baptist Church in Mayo, FL. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. All arrangements are under the care of Burns Funeral Home of Mayo.
